Cutting carbon emissions in Belgravia

December 2020

Grosvenor Britain & Ireland has published a pathway detailing how it will meet its 2030 net zero carbon commitment, a key pillar of its four environmental sustainability goals.

In the next decade, GBI will cut all emissions in the business including those it does not have direct control over by at least 52% from a 2019 baseline. Any residual carbon that cannot be avoided will be offset to reach net zero.

Meeting the goal will see every facet of the business transformed.

A new £90m commitment will support an accelerated retrofit and energy efficiency programme on our historic Mayfair and Belgravia portfolio. All construction projects will be monitored via Environmental Scorecards to ensure low embodied carbon targets are met and emissions across the supply chain will be driven down.

GBI has many tools in place to deliver net zero including its recently launched green lease and has already reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 29% since 2015.

It will now report on progress against the Pathway every year until 2030.
